Not yet. This starter site is the front-end foundation. You can later connect it to a real backend, a phone number, and an approval workflow.
Can people text or call?
Yes - once you connect a number like Twilio, the site can support real texting and calling.
Can volunteers be matched by area?
Yes. A future version can store volunteer areas and match requests by city or ZIP code.
Should this be automatic from day one?
A safer first version is semi-manual, with volunteer approvals and admin review before final assignment.

Can it be hosted on GitHub and Vercel?
Yes. This starter site is static and can be deployed easily. You can later rebuild or expand it into a Next.js app.
